Project’s Description
The project concerns the total redesign of an incomplete tourist facility in Vassiliki, Lefkada island. The building diagram is redefined and adjusted to the needs of a family-oriented tourism enterprise, whose main unit, a four-star type hotel, is right next to the plot. The parameters that shaped the plans and facades of the building were total privacy and uninterrupted sea views for all suites and apartments of 4 and 6 beds. The energy upgrade was necessary and by taking into consideration the southern orientation of the plot, many important passive energy design details were developed. The proximity to the sea required the use of organic coatings which also minimised maintenance costs. The use and maintenance of the building are important configuration parameters for tourism enterprises running costs, which became major design drivers regarding budget management.
