Project’s Description

The winter vacation house was designed to for a family of four in the lush landscape of Vrachni village in Achaia. The prevailing climatic conditions and the altitude of the settlement imposed the implementation of an intensely-sloped pitched roof, forming a guest attic within its highest point. The problem of accessibility for the construction vehicles to the plot was resolved by the adoption of a construction system, which minimises the above requirement and therefore costs. Particular attention was given to address the excessive humidity levels in the area and to use passive energy saving systems. We used local stone and timber materials so in order to integrate the building to the natural and architectural context.
