Project’s Description
The project concerns the design and construction of two housing units in Lefkada. The design involves the development of the property with the aim of providing it with surplus value so that it can be promoted to the British, Russian and Israeli real estate market. The duplex we have designed takes advantage of sloped landscape so as to reexamine the established typology of the horizontally and vertically placed independent properties. The two volumes are rotated and covered in green roofs, creating private spaces, uninterrupted views and integrating the built mass into the natural landscape. The use of exposed concrete on all the surfaces of the protruding volumes reinforces the main theme of the design: structure and landscape. Internally, linear spaces are developed with integrated living room areas overlooking the Aegean Sea from all internal spaces. The planting strategy is a continuation of the local flora.
